Job Title: Production Utility Operator

Reports To: Production Supervisor
Job Summary: The Production Utility Operator will be responsible for supporting the production process as well as shipping and receiving. This role ensures the smooth and efficient operation of the production process, including but not limited to packaging products into totes, drums, pails and cases, loading and unloading chemical tankers, movement of raw materials between production and storage all while adhering to our safety and quality standards. Additionally, the production utility operator will assist with shipping and receiving tasks to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials and products while maintaining housekeeping and proper handling and storage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Packaging: Set up equipment and packaging needed for fulfilling orders. After packaging duties are completed, clean up and put away equipment.
- Maintenance: Assist in the performance of routine maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment to prevent downtime.
- Material Handling: Assist with the transportation and staging of materials and products within the production area when needed. Will also check in raw materials and packaging from suppliers and place in proper storage locations.
- Shipping and Receiving:
- Receive incoming shipments, verify contents, and ensure accurate documentation.
- Prepare and package products for shipment, ensuring they meet all shipping requirements.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers and schedule pickups as needed.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including equipment logs, maintenance reports, and shipping/receiving documentation.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to achieve production goals and improve processes.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing setting. Shipping/Receiving experience preferred.
- Skills:
- Pre-existing ability to operate a forklift is a plus.
- Good communication skills and teamwork abilities. Must be able to communicate with different areas of the plant including production, lab and office.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- The ability to use a computer for checking in raw materials, packaging products in our system and shipping orders.
- Physical Requirements: This position requires constant standing, as well as walking, pushing, pulling and lifting up to (sometimes more than) 50 lbs.
