What are the responsibilities and job description for the Histotechnologist position at Troy Gastroenterology P.C?
To aid in our rapid growth and continue to differentiate our patient experience, we’re hiring a at Part-time Histotechnologist/Histotechnician. The ideal candidate will cover all aspects of histotechnology/accessioning for our lab located in Troy, MI
Primary duties and responsibilities include:
- Accessioning and data entry
- Tissue processing
- Grossing (if person meets CLIA and CAP requirements)
- Microtomy
- Embedding
- Staining including special stains
- Labeling and Filing
- Equipment Maintenance and completion of logs
- Troubleshooting and problem solving
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be reliable
- Other duties as required by supervisor
Qualifications:
- BS or Associates as required by CAP
- ASCP HT or HTL
- Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
