We are in search of a Pathology Lab Manager for our lab located in Troy, MI. The Pathology Lab Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the histology staff and laboratory functions. They perform duties of a histologic technician concurrent with lead tech functions.
Some of the responsibilities you will have:
- Oversee daily technical and non-technical resources and operations to meet organizational and regulatory standards.
- Implement programs for hiring, orientation, compliance, competency, and ongoing training.
- Provide continuous coaching, performance reviews, and counseling to ensure staff meet performance expectations.
- Meet targets for service, quality, regulatory compliance, financial performance, patient satisfaction, and personnel management.
- Monitor and address variances in resource utilization to ensure quality and meet service and fiscal goals.
- Collaborate with the medical director to develop and review department policies and quality metrics.
- Ensure compliance with standards set by CAP, JCAHO, CLIA, COLA, FDA, and CMS.
- Maintain daily, monthly, and annual quality control and management records/logs.
- Perform accessioning, grossing, processing, embedding, tissue sectioning, staining, data entry, and daily quality control tasks.
- Take on additional tasks as assigned by the Lab Director or COO.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Histotechnology, Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology, or Chemistry.
- Active ASCP certification.
- 3-5 years of histology experience at a supervisory level, preferably in a hospital or central laboratory setting.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening upon hire
