In support of our swift expansion and to further distinguish our patient experience, we are seeking a Pre-Admissions Nurse for our surgical center in Lansing, MI. The Pre-Admissions Nurse will be tasked with conducting nursing assessments, arranging preoperative diagnostic tests, and providing educational activities in line with facility policies and procedures as prescribed by the physician.
The position will report directly to the Clinical Manager

What are we looking for in a candidate?
- Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Michigan
- Previous clinical or hospital nursing experience
- Previous clinical experience in a surgical environment preferred
- Current CPR certification required
- Current ACLS Provider certification (or must obtain within 6 months from date of hire) required
- Must pass background check and drug screen
- Must be authorized to work in the US
Essential Job Duties:
- Conduct patient assessments prior to procedures, including reviewing medical histories and medications, and obtaining informed consent
- Develops and implements approved patient and other education programs for the Facility.
- Describes the preoperative experience to the patient and the participation of the significant other, including what to expect before, during and after the procedure using approved materials.
- Retrieves patient records
- Aids the surgical staff in problem solving as needed
- Serves as a patient/family advocate
