Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Admissions Assistant to join our team at Troy Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. This role is vital in providing exceptional customer service and support to families and prospective residents as they navigate the admissions process. The Admissions Assistant will work closely with the Admissions Director and clinical staff to ensure a smooth and positive experience for all new residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the admissions process, including gathering and verifying required documentation and completing necessary paperwork.
- Communicate with prospective residents, their families, and referral sources to provide information about our services and guide them through the admission process.
- Ensure timely and accurate entry of resident information into the facility’s system.
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure all medical and social history information is collected and accurately processed.
- Answer phone calls, schedule tours, and provide exceptional customer service to all inquiries.
- Collaborate with the business office team to ensure billing and insurance information is collected and processed appropriately.
- Maintain a welcoming and professional atmosphere for visitors, residents, and families.
- Ensure that all resident files are complete, up-to-date, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Help facilitate communication between families and staff throughout the admissions process to ensure that all needs are met.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in healthcare or administration is a plus.
- Previous experience in admissions, customer service, or healthcare administration preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize and build rapport with prospective residents and families.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented and capable of maintaining accurate records.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
