What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Development position at Troy University?
The Director of Development is responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individuals or businesses capable of giving at the $25,000 level to the University. This position will manage a portfolio of prospective donors from all constituencies including alumni, friends and business partners of the University. This position will; identify, qualify, solicit, and steward prospective donors at the major donor level; assist with developing strategies designed to engage prospective donors in ways that will encourage their philanthropic investment in the University and its programs; develop strong relationships with all constituencies; work collaboratively with those engaged in annual giving, planned giving, and alumni engagement to secure the maximum gift from all assigned prospects/donors; assist with proposals, cultivation and solicitation materials; and represent the University when requested at development and alumni related functions.
The Director of Development is a vital part of the Office of Development and will work closely with assigned College Administrators including the Dean, AVC of Development & Alumni Engagement, the Alumni Director, and other Senior Administrators. This position will report to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Development and Alumni Engagement.
Minimum Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field
2. Five to seven years of experience in fundraising or related fields
3. Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
4. Ability to interact with a wide variety of constituents
5. Excellent computer skills
