What are the responsibilities and job description for the Executive Director, Leadership Institute position at Troy University?
Troy University’s Executive Director of the Leadership Institute reports directly to the Dean, College of Education. Institute responsibilities include:
- Develop and teach undergraduate leadership courses utilizing practical lessons learned in leading organizations
- Oversee civic education initiatives in cooperation with the American Village Partnership
- Coordinate and lead direct reports across varied university functional areas such as: ROTC, Global Ph.D. guest lecturers on leadership, and study abroad opportunities
- Recruit students for various summer leadership camps with a focus on American Village activities
- Present leadership lectures and courses in support of the Chancellor’s Capstone Leadership class and Global Leadership Ph.D.
- Support planning and delivery of the annual John Robert Lewis Lecture conference
- Design and implement a strategic vision for the Leadership Institute
- Seek grant & fundraising opportunities
- Terminal degree in organizational leadership or related field. ABD will be considered
- Extensive leadership experience in civic, education or military organizations
- Ability to form cohesive teams among varied components
- Demonstrated leadership skills in large organizations
- Ability to work with diverse cultures and international students
- Evidence of curriculum design in leadership/civics education
- Experience in teaching online and in person
- Knowledge of military education and environment
