What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Aid Counselor position at Troy University?
The Financial Aid Counselor position is responsible for providing counseling services related to student financial aid to students and their families; procssing financial aid paperwork; disseminating information regarding financial aid programs to prospective and enrolled students; meeting with students and families one-on-one and in groups to talk about financial aid; engaging in student financial aid educational sessions on and off-campus; heavy contact with students and families via email, phone and in-person; corresponding with other schools and agencies to provide financial aid information; complying with the Federal Blue Book, the Federal Handbook for Financial Aid Administrators, the Encylopedia of Financial Aid, and the Federal Register of Title IV regulations; communicating as needed with all administrative offices of the university; and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited four-year college or university
