What are the responsibilities and job description for the International Student Advisor position at Troy University?
The International Student Advisor position in International Programs is responsible for working with a departmental team to serve international students; student activity programming including student club support, local and national trips, off-campus housing, transportation and general student non-academic advising; registration assistance; assisting with implementing F1 and J1 immigration regulations on behalf of international students; and other job duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field 2. Minimum of one year of work experience in student services 3. Multi-cultural sensitivity 4. Ability to communicate patiently with individuals whose native language is not English 5. Eligibility to access the federal government’s Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS); (as required by the U.S. Department of State, SEVIS can only be accessed by a U.S. citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident)
