What are the responsibilities and job description for the Interpreter Training Assistant position at Troy University?
The Interpreter Training Assistant in the Interpreter Training Program is responsible for performing the duties of an Online Language Lab Mentor, including but are not limited to: maintaining calendar and appointments with online students; establishing and maintaining open lines of communication with faculty and staff at Troy University; reporting weekly activities; utilizing online video communication software to communicate with online students; and communicating proficiently using ASL (American Sign Language) and communicating successfully via email and other online messaging software.
Minimum Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Knowledge and ability to communicate using online video software, online messaging software and email
3. Native fluency in ASL with ability to effectively communicate in written English
4. Ability to work independently with little direction and oversight
5. Great organizational skills
