The Cost Accountant is responsible for analyzing cost data and providing cost consulting to various departments. This role involves developing controls over the costing system, reviewing proposals, ensuring adherence to processes, and supporting project costing efforts.
Responsibilities
- Develop proper controls over the costing system
- Contract review, including alterations when needed
- Review proposal costing/pricing
- Ensure adherence to documented processes and procedures through internal audit functions
- Quote system oversight and enhancements related to costing and/or other related accounting functions
- Intermittent project costing support
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business preferred
- Three (3) years of experience with cost accounting in a manufacturing environment
- Previous experience with government contracts and/or DCMA cost and pricing proposal standards
- Experience in ERP systems and financial costing software
