We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals with disabilities, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life. Your work will involve fostering independence, promoting social inclusion, and advocating for the rights of those you support.
Duties
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful social interactions to promote emotional well-being.
- Support individuals in developing life skills and achieving personal goals through tailored programs.
- Observe and document client behavior and progress, reporting any significant changes to the appropriate personnel.
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to resident rights and safety protocols, including first aid and CPR when necessary.
- Lift and assist clients as needed while maintaining proper body mechanics to ensure safety for both the client and yourself.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers and healthcare professionals, to create comprehensive care plans.
Requirements
- Previous experience in caregiving or direct support roles is preferred.
- Knowledge of working with individuals on the autism spectrum or in senior care settings is a plus.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is highly desirable.
- Strong observational skills with the ability to recognize changes in clients' health or behavior.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
- A commitment to upholding resident rights and promoting dignity for all individuals served.
- Ability to lift clients safely as required by individual needs.

Pay: $13.35 - $14.13 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
