About the Role :
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Underwriter to play a pivotal role in supporting agents and brokers in the placement of Excess & Surplus Primary General Liability insurance coverage. This critical position involves the thorough evaluation and analysis of risks in accordance with underwriting guidelines and specific risk characteristics. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in General Liability E&S underwriting and will have a strategic vision for developing a profitable book of business.
Responsibilities :
- Build and nurture strong, collaborative relationships with agents and brokers to drive business growth.
- Manage a profitable portfolio of E&S General Liability business, including the assessment of new business, renewals, and mid-term endorsements.
- Deliver quotes and bind profitable business in accordance with established key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Operate within a defined authority statement while exercising sound underwriting judgment regarding pricing, forms, applications, deductibles, and more.
- Work independently with limited supervision, escalating matters to the Vice President of Underwriting when necessary.
- Mentor and develop junior underwriters to foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
