Overview
The DON/Clinical Nurse Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing nursing staff and ensuring high-quality patient care within a clinical setting. This leadership position requires a blend of clinical expertise, management skills, and a commitment to fostering a supportive environment for both patients and staff. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating patient care, managing nursing operations, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff to promote professional development and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Oversee patient assessments, care planning, and implementation of treatment protocols.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Manage the collection and processing of specimens, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Coordinate family planning services and provide education to patients regarding reproductive health.
- Conduct physical examinations and provide comprehensive care for pediatric patients.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and streamline healthcare delivery.
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with ICD-9 coding standards.
- Manage the provision of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) as needed for patient care.
- Foster a positive work environment in assisted living settings, promoting teamwork and effective communication.
Skills
- Proficient in ICD-9 coding and documentation practices.
- Strong knowledge of infant care principles and pediatric nursing practices.
