Job Description
Are you passionate about trucks and love the thrill of closing a deal? TCI-Evansville is looking for a Truck Sales Representative who’s driven, people-focused, and ready to grow with a family-owned company that values relationships just as much as results.
In this role, you’ll be selling both new and pre-owned trucks to a wide range of customers – from municipalities and large fleets to independent owner-operators – all within your own territory. If you’re self-motivated, goal-oriented, and excited to work with a variety of customers, you might be just who we’re looking for.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Connect with customers – Proactively build relationships with prospective and existing customers, understanding their needs and earning their trust through personalized service and consistent follow-up.
- Recommend the right trucks – Use your product knowledge to match customers with new or pre-owned vehicles that best fit their operational needs, preferences, and budget.
- Prepare and present proposals – Create professional, accurate specs and pricing proposals tailored to each customer, whether it's a single unit or a fleet order.
- Showcase vehicles and features – Demonstrate vehicle options, features, and capabilities through walkarounds, system explanations, and test drives.
- Navigate financing options – Help customers understand available financing and insurance programs to ensure they’re making informed decisions.
- Coordinate the delivery process – Oversee all aspects of the truck delivery process—from order placement to final delivery—ensuring a smooth, timely, and professional experience for the customer.
- Follow up and stay connected – Maintain contact with buyers after the sale to ensure satisfaction, build loyalty, and generate repeat business and referrals.
- Prospect and develop leads – Use multiple tools and strategies to continuously generate new leads and maintain an active pipeline of potential customers.
- Stay industry-savvy – Keep up with new product developments, emerging technologies, and industry trends to confidently communicate the benefits of our products.
- Monitor the competition – Stay aware of competitors’ offerings, pricing, and market tactics to keep a competitive edge.
- Set and track your goals – Take ownership of your personal sales targets and regularly assess your performance to stay on track and grow your success.
- Be a team player – Collaborate with our Parts and Service departments to ensure your customers receive a full-circle, exceptional ownership experience.
Qualifications
What We're Looking For:
- Valid CDL & DOT medical card with ability to meet insurance requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree is a plus
- 2 years of experience in sales, preferably in the automotive or trucking industry
- Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- A friendly, outgoing personality with the drive to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness and ability to perform vehicle test drives
- Must participate in a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen.
