Job Description
- Oversees all manufacturing activities related to production at our Wellsboro, PA facility.
- Coordinates supervision to meet the daily production plan.
- Leads/oversees communication efforts with all manufacturing personnel on all shifts.
- Maintains key operations performance measures to establish goals including labor and material variances, safety and environmental to establish goals. Responsible for plant efficiency, effectivity, delivery, quality, scrap, and rework.
- Supports new product development and product launches.
- Administers the weekly manufacturing plan. Attends weekly MPS meetings. NPI representative.
- Monitors department performance, plans and executes corrective, preventive, and continuous improvement programs.
- Coordinates the introduction of new products/samples into production.
- Trains, develops, and appraises employee performance while developing staff to ensure growth within existing roles and development of strength for future roles within the Company. Coaches’ employees and manages conflicts. Maintains and directs employees regarding safety, health, housekeeping, and fire protection.
- Ensures TS- 16949 & ISO- 14001 standards, processes and procedures are maintained during the year to maintain continuous certification.
- Ensures positive employee relations, supports regular communication meetings with hourly workforce.
- Promotes safe working conditions.
- Supports the development of Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly performance measures.
- Responsible for taking/implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Develops and maintains expense budgets, productivity, and capital budgets for the facility.
- Ensures overall quality of parts, products and services provided and ensure cost/margin objectives are met for the products produced.
- Direct Supervision of the following: Technical Supervisors, Lead Supervisor, Shift Supervisor, Inventory/Materials Specialist, Work Order Coordinator
Requirements
- Four (4) year degree; prefer technical degree with 5 to 10 years of work experience related to production management.
- Must have proven leadership to lead changes in a continuous improvement environment.
- Prioritize issues and assign appropriate resources for resolution.
- Effectively communicate to all levels within the organization.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge and experience with J.D. Edwards or another enterprise resource planning platform is a must.
