About the Role:
As a Lead Technician, you will be expected to lead a team of technicians and ensure that all technical tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. Your main goal will be to ensure that our technical operations run smoothly and that our clients receive the best possible service. As a Lead Technician, you will be using your technical expertise and leadership skills on a daily basis. You will need to have a strong understanding of technical equipment and be able to troubleshoot and repair issues as they arise. Additionally, you will need to be able to effectively communicate with your team and other departments to ensure that technical operations run smoothly. Your problem-solving and analytical skills will be essential in identifying and resolving technical issues. Finally, your leadership and management skills will be critical in leading the team to success.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of technicians to ensure all technical tasks are completed on time and to a high standard
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions to problems
- Maintain and repair technical equipment as needed
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless technical operation
- Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves tractor and occasional trailer related problems
- Responsible for the accurate and timely completion of necessary company paperwork repair orders, indirect labor forms, etc.
- Performs preventive maintenance (PM's) on tractor and trailer equipment as assigned.
- Properly categorize repairs (i.e. Preventative Maintenance, Component Failure, Abuse, and Accident, according to current company standards)
- Accurately record parts and supplies used in performing repairs, which may include scanning bar codes of parts, and recording consumable supplies
- Accurately record repair stories in order to properly document complaints, causes and corrections of component failures, and enable the company to recover warrantable expenses
- Position includes bending, lifting (up to 100 pounds), climbing, as it relates to maintenance of Class 8 equipment
- Assist other mechanics as needed
- Preventative Maintenance
- High proficiency in Brakes, Tires, Oil Change, Suspension
- Other Mechanical tasks
- Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.
- Maintain a high level of productivity and be able to work within or close to most standard repair times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
- 5 years of experience in a technical role
- Proven leadership and management skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skill
- Diesel engine repair: 1- 3-years minimu
- Mechanical knowledge: 1-3 years minimu
- Proficiency in and ability to obtain certificates for DOT Inspection and Air Brakes repair
- Excellent verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with customers and their drivers.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, multi-task and apply initiative.
- Must provide own hand tools that are adequate to perform job functions
- Positive attitude, Safety conscious, and Self-motivated
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a leadership or management role
- Experience in the industry of the company
- Certifications in relevant technical fields

Mid-day, 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Tuesday through Friday between 11:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
