Position Overview
Tractor Technician will be running diagnostic tests, repairing semi-tractor vehicles, and performing preventative maintenance. The individual at this position will be eager to provide the best truck service and willing to communicate with company drivers, and other Mechanics within the shop to achieve overall success of the repair process. This position is a first shift (630 am through 300 pm), Monday through Friday opportunity.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Diagnose issues in semi-trucks and tractor-trailers
- Perform preventative maintenance on tractors
- Perform Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Preventative maintenance, including replacing coils and filters
- Perform Tractor preventative maintenance, including changing out filters, testing fire alarms and fire extinguishers
- Test equipment and systems for performance
- Perform repairs to brakes and electrical systems
- Perform brake system repairs, suspension maintenance and structural damage repairs performing routine maintenance and regulatory compliance
- Perform disk & drum air brake repairs
- Replace parts as needed
- Document repairs
Skills and Requirements:
- Able to work as a team member
- Diagnosis fault codes
- Must have the ability and desire to learn complex mechanical systems
- Must own your own tools
- Minimum 1 year experience in Semi-Tractor maintenance and repair and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 1 year experience in tractor maintenance and repair and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Diesel mechanic experience is a must
- Must be a least 18 years of age
- Computer literate
- Valid driver’s license
