What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security position at Truck Yard?
Truck Yard Job Description: Security
Truck Yard is a dive-ish bar garden with a huge backyard, live music and food trucks where everyone’s invited (and their furry buddies, too.)
With lots of heavily shaded outdoor space, food trucks on rotation, our very own food trucks slinging the best cheesesteaks in town, and signature drinks, there’s no place quite like Truck Yard.
SUMMARY:
Security staff are a critical part of Truck Yard’s overall guest experience. Security team members are expected to provide a “presence” of safety for our guests and team members. Truck Yard expects Security to staff their post (such as the front door checking ID’s, tracking guest count), or making the rounds as Truck Yard ambassadors to ensure that guests are following rules and enjoying themselves. The entire team at Truck Yard is responsible for contributing to these company goals, regardless of position:
- Great Food & Drinks
- Great Service
- Friendly Staff (to the customer and to each other)
- Clean & Well Maintained Buildings
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide a safe and secure environment for guests in partnership with management.
- Monitor your post or section(s) throughout the course of a shift.
- Verify ID’s at the front door when assigned that post. Card all guests that appear to be younger than 35. Utilize approved black markers to place an X on the hands of guests under 21 years of age.

- Politely inform guests that no outside food or beverages are permitted. (Cakes, Cupcakes and/or Cookies are okay.)
- When not assigned to a specific post, move seamlessly and in a friendly manner through the Yard and bar areas. Keep a close eye on guest behavior and notify management immediately when any type of security problem occurs.
- Be goodwill ambassadors for Truck Yard, not an intimidating presence. We expect security to interact in a positive manner with each guest and in turn notify management immediately if a security or safety problem exists.
- Team up with management to help de-escalated issues. **Security staff are not to put themselves at risk and should involve the support of police whenever necessary**
