TruckMax in Homestead, FL is seeking to hire a trustworthy, ethical, responsible, and experienced Controller to support the entire accounting function and financial reporting for our dealership. This is a hands-on position requiring knowledge of all facets of the dealership’s accounting including all departments, not just accounting.

• Prepare and report the monthly financial statements in accordance with dealership guidelines and within the manufacturers’ guidelines, format, and deadlines.
• Prepare and report the financial statements and supplemental data
• Calculate and post the monthly commissions of all department managers paid on the dealership’s monthly performance.
• Review monthly financial statements with the Dealer Principal
• Ensure that all balance sheet accounts are reconciled to the general ledger and items are cleared within appropriate guidelines per asset or liability account.
• Ensure that all manufacturer accounts, including but not limited to warranty claims, rebates/incentives, floorplan assistance, holdback, PDI, advertising/coop, are posted and reconciled timely to the manufacturer statement and general ledger.
• Oversee and manage all aspects of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations
• Prepare and analyze financial reports to provide insights and recommendations to senior management for decision-making.
• Manage the budgeting and forecasting process to support strategic planning and goal setting.
• Conduct regular account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
• Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process.
• Oversee the preparation of monthly VIT reports and make related payments
• Oversee the monthly sales, lease rental, and battery reports and make related payments
• Review with the parts manager the monthly parts reconciliations and make the related monthly adjustments.
• Research and post certain transactions on the weekly bank statements as needed
• Other duties that may be assigned

• Knowledge in a dealership setting required
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and accounting systems (CDK)
• Leadership qualities with a focus on delivering through people and demonstrated communication capabilities
• Strong organizational skills; Passion for researching, understanding, and advising on sophisticated accounting matters
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Highly organized, able to manage and prioritize multiple projects at one time
