TruckMax in Homestead, FL is seeking to hire a trustworthy, ethical, responsible, and experienced Controller to support the entire accounting function and financial reporting for our dealership. This is a hands-on position requiring knowledge of all facets of the dealership’s accounting including all departments, not just accounting.

Responsibilities – Controller :
Prepare and report the monthly financial statements in accordance with dealership guidelines and within the manufacturers’ guidelines, format, and deadlines.Prepare and report the financial statements and supplemental dataCalculate and post the monthly commissions of all department managers paid on the dealership’s monthly performance.Review monthly financial statements with the Dealer PrincipalEnsure that all balance sheet accounts are reconciled to the general ledger and items are cleared within appropriate guidelines per asset or liability account.Ensure that all manufacturer accounts, including but not limited to warranty claims, rebates / incentives, floorplan assistance, holdback, PDI, advertising / coop, are posted and reconciled timely to the manufacturer statement and general ledger.Oversee and manage all aspects of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting.Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulationsPrepare and analyze financial reports to provide insights and recommendations to senior management for decision-making.Manage the budgeting and forecasting process to support strategic planning and goal setting.Conduct regular account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process.Oversee the preparation of monthly VIT reports and make related paymentsOversee the monthly sales, lease rental, and battery reports and make related paymentsReview with the parts manager the monthly parts reconciliations and make the related monthly adjustments.Research and post certain transactions on the weekly bank statements as neededOther duties that may be assignedQualifications - Controller :
Knowledge in a dealership setting requiredProficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and accounting systems (CDK)Leadership qualities with a focus on delivering through people and demonstrated communication capabilitiesStrong organizational skills; Passion for researching, understanding, and advising on sophisticated accounting mattersExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsHighly organized, able to manage and prioritize multiple projects at one timePlease upload your resume.
