Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance and repair of our fleet vehicles and equipment. This role is essential in ensuring that all vehicles are operating efficiently, safely, and reliably. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience in vehicle maintenance, as well as the ability to lead a team of technicians.
Duties
- Manage the daily operations of the fleet maintenance department, ensuring timely and effective repairs and maintenance.
- Conduct regular inspections of fleet vehicles to identify issues related to shocks, struts, brakes, and other critical components.
- Oversee automotive diagnostics and repair processes, ensuring high-quality workmanship in all repairs.
- Coordinate with vendors for parts procurement and manage inventory of necessary tools and supplies.
- Train and mentor maintenance staff on best practices for vehicle upkeep, including heavy equipment operation and industrial equipment maintenance.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend the life of fleet assets.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies regarding vehicle operation and maintenance practices.
Experience
- Proven experience in vehicle maintenance, including automotive repair, brake repair, alignment, and use of hand tools.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot various automotive issues effectively.
- Experience operating heavy equipment is a plus.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics systems is preferred.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively while fostering a collaborative work environment.
