The Regional Controller will be responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial reporting for their designated platforms. This role will focus on ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, developing accounting strategies, and supporting the overall financial goals of the organization. Additionally, the Regional Controller will be responsible for building and maintaining robust accounting processes, setting performance targets with their team and driving process improvements within the accounting department.

The Regional Controller will be responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial reporting for their designated platforms. This role will focus on ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, developing accounting strategies, and supporting the overall financial goals of the organization. Additionally, the Regional Controller will be responsible for building and maintaining robust accounting processes, setting performance targets with their team and driving process improvements within the accounting department.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Direct the companies accounting function and ensure adherence to GAAP standards
- Manage platform leaders and Assistant Controller
- Oversee the closing process for month-end and year-end, including preparing financial statements for internal and external stakeholders
- Reform and refine existing processes for improved efficiency and proper internal controls
- Oversee the timely and accurate completion of GL account reconciliations
- Coordinate external audits
- Responsible for development and maintenance of appropriate internal controls over financial reporting
- Lead team in identification of process improvements and enhancements; develop a processing “center of excellence”
- Provide meaningful interpretation and analysis of financial data
- Assist with due diligence on acquisitions; lead integration of newly acquired businesses
- Assist in the preparation of the cash flow statement and in the preparation of the year end financial statement notes
- Report directly to the VP of Accounting
- 5-10 years of Accounting Leadership Experience
- 10 years of accounting Experience
- Big 4 experience (preferred)
- Deep expertise, market relationships and strong visibility in the insurance marketplace (Preferred)
- Proven progressive track recording driving new business results.
- A consultative, positive, and resourceful approach to dealing with prospects, clients and associates.
- Highly developed organization and time management skills.
- Strong listening, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong degree of self-motivation with a demonstrated ability to lead/motivate others.
- Bachelor’s Degree required, CPA (Preferred)
- Ability to commute to Lindon, Utah
