What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Generalist position at TruCut incorporated?
Who We Are
TruCut Incorporated is the leading supplier of out-of-production and low-volume service parts for the HVAC industry. With more than 50 years of experience, we specialize in providing comprehensive solutions for manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution for our OEM customers.
We operate three manufacturing facilities in Salem and Sebring, Ohio, and a distribution center in Alliance, Ohio—home to over 100 dedicated team members. We’re ISO 9001:2015 certified, practice Open Book Management, and play The Great Game of Business because we believe work should be rewarding and engaging.
Right now, we’re looking to bring an HR Generalist on board—someone who is passionate about people, proactive in solving problems, and eager to be part of a collaborative and growing team.
Types of Things You’ll Be Doing
As an HR Generalist, you’ll be a go-to person for HR-related questions and help create a positive, compliant, and people-first work environment. You’ll build relationships with employees across all facilities and work with department leaders to ensure consistency in applying policies, supporting employee relations, and promoting a safe and respectful workplace.
Some of the work you’ll be doing includes:
- Being the friendly, knowledgeable first point of contact for HR questions.
- Walking the floor daily or weekly to build rapport and make HR approachable.
- Using our Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to post jobs, manage candidates, and help us land great talent.
- Supporting benefits-related needs by working with our providers like Cigna, Empower, and more.
- Keeping employee records clean, current, and confidential.
- Assisting with workers’ comp, OSHA/BWC/Sheakley compliance, and being a steady hand in safety support.
- Participating in conversations around performance, policy interpretation, and internal investigations to ensure fairness.
- Helping to ensure we’re always compliant with employment laws and recommending improvements to HR practices.
- Being a part of the Great Game of Business by helping employees understand how their work impacts the company’s success.
- Jumping in on HR projects and administrative tasks that keep our operations running smoothly.
Types of Things You Won’t Be Doing
You won’t be stuck behind a desk all day or buried in corporate red tape. We don’t do micromanagement or tolerate drama. You also won’t be asked to do it all alone—our HR & Safety Manager will be your teammate and support system. Bonus: no filing cabinets full of chaos—we actually care about organized records!
How We Define Success in This Role
Success here means you’re approachable, dependable, and consistent. People know they can count on you to follow through, speak up when something’s off, and be a voice for what’s right. You’ll thrive if you’re curious, resourceful, and can balance being empathetic with being firm.
What We’d Like From You
Ideally, you have a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration—or equivalent HR certifications/training. You’ve had some experience in HR (the more, the better), and you understand the importance of confidentiality, communication, and keeping things organized. You’re comfortable with Microsoft Office, learning new systems, and asking questions.
What You’ll Get in Return
- A competitive wage based on experience and skills.
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance options.
- Supplemental insurance availability.
- 401(k) with 4% match.
- Gainsharing bonuses of up to 15%.
- A company-funded $25,000 life insurance policy.
- Paid holidays (8, or 9 if you’re a veteran!) and PTO.
- Tuition reimbursement for job-related continuing education.
- A positive, stable work environment where people genuinely enjoy coming to work—and eating donuts on Fridays.
Who Are Your Coworkers?
You’ll be working with down-to-earth, smart, and driven people who care about their work and their coworkers. We’re a team of problem-solvers, DIYers, parents, musicians, coaches, travelers, and people who believe in doing great work and treating others with respect.
Sound like a fit? Send us your resume and anything else you think we should know. We can’t wait to meet you.
