As an Assistant Veterinary Technician, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our patients receive exceptional care while gaining valuable hands-on experience to advance in the veterinary field. You will work closely with our veterinary team, assisting in exam rooms, performing basic lab tasks, handling and restraining patients, supporting client communications, and helping with kennel duties as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Safely handle and restrain animals during exams and procedures.
- Assist veterinarians and technicians in exam rooms and treatment areas.
- Perform basic lab work, such as collecting samples and running in-house diagnostics.
- Provide excellent client communication and education during visits.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas, exam rooms, and kennels.
- Support daily animal care, including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring patients.
- Assist with routine tasks such as taking patient weights and recording notes in electronic medical records.
Ideal Candidate:
- Has previous experience as a Kennel Technician, Veterinary Assistant, or similar role in the veterinary field.
- Shows a strong interest in growing into a veterinary technician position.
- Is skilled in handling and restraining animals safely and compassionately.
- Has some experience with basic lab work (e.g., fecals, urinalysis) and assisting in veterinary procedures.
- Displays excellent communication skills and enjoys working with clients and their pets.
- Is reliable, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting.
- Knowledge of basic animal care and husbandry.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records is a plus but not required.
