YOUR MISSION
As an RF Electrical Engineer at True Anomaly, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and testing of electrical systems across our ground and space hardware. You will work closely with a team of engineers and technicians to ensure the highest level of quality, reliability, and performance of our spacecraft.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the rapid design, development, and testing of high-reliability RF and communications systems for spacecraft engineering and development effortsDrive requirements capture, component selection, analysis, bring-up, debugging, documentation, manufacturing, and test for electrical designsAnalysis includes link budgets, antenna coverage, antenna patterns, and data link ratesOversee the selection and integration of RF components, including power amplifiers, filters, mixers, and oscillators, into spacecraft systemsPerform system-level integration of RF and electrical subsystems, including hardware and software interfacesPerform first article testing, unit level testing, and production testingSupport hardware through production, integration, and launchWork with experts from other teams and departments to drive changes that make the system more efficient, manufacturable, and reliable and to ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and quality assurance processesDefine validation approach and create development and qualification testing campaigns to exercise designs to their limits and ensure reliable hardwareDevelop and maintain documentation for electrical systems and components, including design specifications, test plans, and operating proceduresParticipate in all aspects of the product development lifecycle, from concept and requirements definition to product release and post-release supportProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers on the teamContinuously improve electrical engineering processes and practices to drive innovation and efficiencyQUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field5-7 years of experience in RF system design and development for aerospace applicationsDemonstrated experience with RF systems design and link budgetsElectronics design experience preferredExperience with spacecraft communication systems, including S-band, X-band, Ka-band, or other frequency bands used in space missionsHands-on experience with RF test equipment, such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and signal generatorsAdvanced experience in Altium Designer or RF simulation software (Matlab, HFSS, etc)Strong understanding of applicable codes and standardsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Master's degree in aerospace or electrical engineering or related fieldExperience with software-defined radios (SDRs) and their application in space communication systemsKnowledge of space communication protocols, including CCSDS, DVB-S2, and othersExperience with simulation tools such as SPICE, MATLAB, and SimulinkExpertise in satellite communication link optimization, including Doppler shift compensation and error correction codingExperience with regulatory filing committee's and processesExperience in antenna design, harness design, and PCB designExperience with encryption algorithms, preferable NSA type 1Experience with file transfer protocols and memory storageProven track record of innovation in RF system design, including compact antenna developmentExperience working in a fast-paced, startup environment or a similarly dynamic settingCOMPENSATION
Base Salary : $120,000-$145,000 for RF Electrical Engineer II; $152,000-$175,000 for Senior RF Electrical Engineer; $190,000-$225,000 for Staff RF EngineerEquity Benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, HRA / HSA options, PTO and paid holidays, 401K, Parental LeaveYour actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations : job related knowledge and skills, education, location and experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
