Job Description:
As a CNC Router Operator for our countertop fabrication company, you will be responsible for operating computer numerical control (CNC) routers to accurately cut and shape various materials, primarily countertops, according to specifications provided by our programming team. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of CNC machinery.
Responsibilities:
- CNC Machine Operation:
- Set up and operate CNC routers to cut, shape, and carve countertops from materials such as granite, marble, quartz, and other stone surfaces.
- Load and unload materials onto CNC machine beds, ensuring proper alignment and secure placement.
- Monitor CNC machine operation to ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
Material Handling:
- Inspect materials for defects or irregularities before loading them onto CNC machines.
- Utilize lifting equipment and proper safety techniques to handle heavy materials safely.
Quality Control:
- Conduct quality checks on finished products to verify dimensions, shape, and surface finish meet design specifications.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues with CNC machinery, making adjustments as necessary to maintain quality standards.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to address any concerns or discrepancies in finished products.
Maintenance and Safety:
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace.
- Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
Requirements:
- Experience operating CNC routers or similar machinery, preferably in the countertop fabrication industry, is a plus.
- Familiarity with CNC programming and software, such as AutoCAD or similar CAD/CAM software is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in executing machining processes.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and operate lifting equipment safely.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols in an industrial setting.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in CNC machining is a plus.
Pay: $17.00/hour
