Job Description:
The Cabinet Assembly Technician position reports to the Cabinet Manager. The Cabinet Assembly Technician has the ability to layout and complete cabinet installation from start to finish with confidence. This position works on various sites, residential, commercial, and industrial, and works in accordance with True Corporation's standard operating procedures. Safety is always our first priority. The main responsibility of this role is to provide the highest level of assembly, layout, installation and repair standards while maintaining a professional attitude with the utmost respect for the customer's property.
Job Duties:
- Inspection and assembly of materials and articles to specified standards
- Perform all cabinet installations, with the ability to reason and to understand and carry out detailed written, illustrated, or oral instructions
- Inform customers about the functionality, care, and upkeep of their new installations
- Ability to read blueprints and drawings
- Ensure work is completed as requested by the customer, project manager, or contractor and it is to their standards
- Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines
- Ensure attention to detail and a keen sense of safeguarding other people’s property and information
- Will practice good housekeeping at all times to ensure a safe and non-cluttered worksite
- Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices
- Proactively communicate job site conditions and concerns that may or are affecting the completion of the job to the appropriate person
- This role could be required to act as a “lead” periodically as designated by their manager
Education and Experience:
- Excellent carpentry and hand tool skills
- Required to have at least 3 years of hands-on experience with cabinet assembly/installation, and the ability to take accurate measurements.
- Possess the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measure
- Construction / Restoration experience preferred
- Valid Driver's License and clean driving record required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer and/or tablet/iPad experience
- Willing to work evenings, on call, and weekends a few times a month
Physical Demands
- Frequent lifting from 5-40 lbs., unassisted (from 35-65% of the time)
- Occasional lifting from 41 lbs. , assisted (up to 50% of the time)
- Access and mobility in tight spaces
- Working at Heights - over 5 feet, periodically
- Sustained periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and kneeling
