As a Character Performer, you will engage with audiences, especially children, in a variety of settings, including live performances, events, and educational programs. Duties
- Portray assigned characters with authenticity and energy, ensuring a captivating performance for audiences of all ages.
- Interact with children and families in a friendly and approachable manner, fostering a positive environment.
- Participate in public speaking engagements to educate audiences about the character's background and story.
- Collaborate with the production team to rehearse routines, including dance and scripted dialogue.
- Attend training sessions to enhance performance skills and character portrayal techniques.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of performance areas as needed.
- Maintain character integrity by adhering to costume guidelines and performance standards.
Experience
- Previous experience in theater, dance, or related performing arts is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong public speaking skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
- Experience working with children is highly desirable; a passion for engaging young audiences is essential.
- Ability to educate others about the character's story while maintaining an entertaining atmosphere.
- A background in improvisation or interactive performance is a plus.
