Job Summary:
The Director of Outpatient Behavioral Health Agency oversees and directs all clinical, administrative, and operational activities of the outpatient behavioral health program. This includes managing staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, overseeing program development, and maintaining high-quality patient care. The role requires a leader with strategic vision, strong clinical and administrative skills, and a commitment to behavioral health services. Director must have 2-3 years of experience in Behavioral health in Texas. Knowing how to operate target case management, crisis, and other behavioral health services.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
- Oversee daily operations of the outpatient behavioral health program.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise clinical and administrative staff, including therapists, counselors, social workers, and support personnel.
- Work alongside leadership to establish goals and objectives for the agency, ensuring alignment with organizational mission and vision.
Program Development and Oversight:
- Develop and implement programs and services to meet the community's behavioral health needs.
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making adjustments as needed to improve quality and outcomes.
- Ensure services are evidence-based and adhere to best practices in behavioral health care.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including licensing and accreditation standards.
- Oversee risk management and quality assurance initiatives, maintaining high standards of care and service delivery.
- Conduct audits and ensure timely submission of reports to regulatory agencies.
Community Engagement:
- Build relationships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and stakeholders to promote the agency’s services.
- Represent the agency in community events, meetings, and professional networks.
- Advocate for behavioral health services and policies at local and state levels.
Clinical Oversight:
- Make sure clinicians provide clinical consultation and support to staff, as needed.
- Ensure proper case management and adherence to treatment plans.
- Review and address complex cases, crisis situations, and escalated patient concerns.
Qualifications:
Education and Licensure:
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field (required).
- (Optional) Licensed as a Clinical Psychologist, LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent in the state of operation (required).
Experience:
- Experience with successfully managing a behavioral health operation in Texas minimum 2 years.
- Demonstrated experience with program development, strategic planning, and operations management.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of behavioral health regulations, including HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care systems.
- Proficiency in budgeting, financial management, and grant writing.
