The Program Manager will apply structured project management methodologies in complex environments to develop programs to support the strategic direction of our internal and Clients’ organizations. This role is responsible for the successful migration of technologies related to Networking, in-house ERP systems, and many base-level applications, ensuring seamless pre-cutover, cutover, and post-cutover transitions to Client's internal steady-state teams. The Program Manager will lead key initiatives, manage cross-functional teams, and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives and project goals. This role requires a proactive, independent leader who can create and manage technology plans, reflect on dependencies, identify risks, and ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery of the program.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with cross-discipline team members to ensure project requirements, deadlines, and schedules are met, managing the full migration lifecycle from pre-cutover through post-cutover to steady-state operations.
- Understand both current and future business goals, as well as ongoing IT challenges, to ensure alignment and drive business success.
- Meet with project team members to identify and resolve issues.
- Lead the creation, development, and management of detailed migration plans, including technical roadmaps, resource allocation, and scheduling to meet project milestones.
- Assign and oversee daily tasks of technical personnel while ensuring all team members are actively working toward established milestones.
- Develop project plans, goals, and budgets; identify resources needed.
- Develop schedules and methods for measuring results.
- Plan and oversee the preparation and dissemination of project communications.
- Submit project deliverables and ensure that they adhere to quality standards.
- Prepare status reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing relevant information.
- Establish effective project communication plans and ensure their execution.
- Facilitate change requests to ensure that all parties are informed of the impacts on schedule and budget.
- Obtain customer acceptance of project deliverables.
- Conduct post project evaluation and identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
- Manage multiple workstreams, provide strategic oversight, and ensure that projects stay on track from start to finish.
- The position is based remotely, but occasional travel to Houston (approximately once per month) may be required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field and/or relevant work experience
- Advanced Degree a plus
- Industry Certification a plus – ITIL, CSM, PMP, etc.
- 8 years of IT Project Management experience, with 3 years as a Program Manager
- Proven track record in working on enterprise-level large projects
- Experience in process definition, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Great written and verbal communication skills with the ability to negotiate and reach “win-win” scenarios
- Ability to direct and manage teams – identifying project tasks, setting priorities, assigning and monitoring work
- Ability to interact with and manage both local and virtual project teams
- Experience (leading or participating) in the deployment of enterprise-wide processes
- Knowledge of SDLC, application integration principles, standards and methods
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite (Project, Visio, Word, Excel) and Smartsheet (macro-level use)
- Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall
- Ability to handle various team dynamics, including managing stakeholder expectations and personalities while maintaining professionalism and a relationship-first mindset
- Ethical integrity and accountability—demonstrating that your word is your bond and that you act with the utmost professionalism and trustworthiness in all business dealings
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Requires a good personality capable of building relationships and professional networking between different Business Units / Departments.
