DENTAL MANAGER
JOB SUMMARY: the Dental Manager will assist the Dental Director in meeting the goals for financial, metrics, patient satisfaction, employee training, and employee satisfaction. Will work closely with the Dental Director to implement marketing/business development and billing department productivity.
The duties of the Dental Manager are to work closely with the Dental Director and staff to coordinate daily operations and workflows of the dental department at all dental offices and mobile units.
RELATIONSHIP REPORTING:

RELATIONSHIP REPORTING:
- Reports to the Dental Director
- Keep schedule full; supervise quick call lists in all dental offices and mobile units; manages same day apt. and walk ins.
- Confirms patients; enforces no-show policy.
- Monitors and reports statistics: procedure types, payor sources, wait times, and no-show rate.
- Treat patients promptly and with courtesy
- Verifies eligibility regarding covered procedures, service frequency.
- Verifies private insurance breakdowns, benefit maximums/deductibles, and copays. Supervises pre-authorizations and monitors referrals.
- Work with the billing department for proper codes and x-rays.
- Coordinates providing narratives from providers when needed.
- Reviews EOBs monthly and cross checks with completed services to ensure claims are paid, works with billing dept. to resubmit if necessary
- Maintains maintenance and cleaning schedules for equipment and general office.
- Communicate OSHA/HIPPA and True Health policy and procedures updates with staff. Supervises the new workflow to accommodate the changes.
- Organizes equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Coordinates with Business Development manager to do outreach with schools, churches, and community organizations.
- Communicates with private offices to develop referral relationships.
- Communicates and maintains relationships with insurance/Medicaid representatives.
- Promotes dental/medical integration organizing internal referrals.
- Coordinates drop lab cases. Maintains receipts and invoices.
- Alerts the Dental Director of the need to recruit, retain, and/or terminate staff.
- Maintain open lines of communication between clerical and clinical staff.
- Conducts site visits at all dental offices when needed, at least monthly to ensure all required tasks are completed.
- Maintains dental assistant PTO calendar and assigns rotational coverage when needed for assigned PTO and callouts.
- Supervises dental assistants and their schedules and training.
- Works with Dental Director and HR for disciplinary actions
- Fill in for assistants in the clinic if needed.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
- Travel from site to site.
- Supervises buckets and mail.
- Manage Inventory.
- Inform the Dental Director of challenges encountered, and successes encountered.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited program for Dental Assistants or Dental Hygienist
- Understand and strive to maintain Teamwork
- Ability to work under pressure and communicate effectively with health care teams
- Computer competency
- Ability to work well with others
- Bilingual a plus
- Communicate effectively with patients and staff
- Be able to sit, stand, or view a computer screen for extended periods of time
- Perform repetitive hand and wrist motions for extended periods of time
- Be able to use hand and fingers to handle or feel
- Be able to reach with hands and arms
