Job Summary
The Obstetrics/Gynecology (OB/GYN) and/or Family Medicine OB/GYN Physician provides internal medical care and hospital on-call services at Advent Health. The Physician provides comprehensive Obstetric services including preventive and health maintenance services, acute and chronic care, clinical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment as well as OB/GYN consultation services to True Health patients. The duties of the Physician position include, but are not limited to providing diagnosis, treatment, consultation, education and follow-up care to patients, proper maintenance of records, acting as the Supervisory Physician of Mid-level Providers, students, Residents and Fellows as required, and any other reasonable and proper duties assigned.

The duties of the Physician position include, but are not limited to providing diagnosis, treatment, consultation, education and follow-up care to patients, proper maintenance of records, acting as the Supervisory Physician of Mid-level Providers, students, Residents and Fellows as required, and any other reasonable and proper duties assigned.
Primary Functions
- Perform histories, physicals and prescribing a diagnostic, education, preventive and/or treatment plan within the standards of accepted medical practice
- Perform and/or order labs, diagnostic procedures, and making appropriate referrals as necessary
- Maintain patient records
- Adhere to proper charting protocols
- Coordinate continuity of medical care for patients
- Promote health by advising patients on diet, hygiene and prevention of disease
- Inoculate and vaccinate as required
- Perform minor surgery as necessary
- Report deaths and contagious diseases to governmental authorities
- Be familiar with True Health's programs, philosophies, goals, and objectives. Be cognizant of and comply with all policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws / regulations.
- Adhere to disease management protocols and key clinical pathways; use them to improve clinical performance.
- Participate in collaborative and health care programs of federal and state governments approved by the Senior Management.
- Work with QI/RM to ensure compliance with clinical measures.
- Complete all required daily tasks on time. (Payroll timekeeping, encounter tickets, hospital encounters, evaluations, progress notes, etc.).
- Understand the requirements of True Health's Exposure Control Plan and assure compliance of play by support staff assigned to assist you.
- Personally utilize Universal Precautions when practicing in the clinical setting.
- Facilitate needed referrals, including social services for patients requiring services not offered at True Health, in coordination with referral coordinators and nurses according to True Health policy.
- Participate in staff outreach and off-site health care programs requiring OB/GYN services as requested by the Chief Medical Officer and represent True Health in the community.
- Participate in internal clinical committees.
- Advise and assist ARNP and PA-C mid-level providers as needed in accordance with approved protocols and procedures.
- Complete all duties, responsibilities, and competencies in a manner that is appropriate to the age groups to whom care/services are being provided.
- Assist in the review of primary care protocols and patient education materials in collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer, Director of OB/GYN, and/ or Regional Medical Director.
- Provide necessary information and signatures for participation in reimbursement arrangements, such as Medicare, Medicaid, and other plans.
- Review incoming reports (lab, x-ray, EKG, etc), sign off, and follow up when indicated.
- Maintain neat patient records with timely dictation of SOAP notes and current Chronic Problem and Medication lists.
- encounter tickets that correspond to care given and is documented in progress notes.
- Report as needed to Chief Medical Officer, Director of Ob/Gyn, and/or Regional Medical Director any pertinent information or situations that impact on patient care or True Health liability.
- Demonstrate ability to work cooperatively with other members of the clinical team. Be supportive of coworkers.
- Perform all surgical procedures using sterile techniques and CDC guidelines.
- Perform counseling on birth control and placement of long-acting reversible contraception (LARCs) (i.e. IUDs, Nexplanon), possibly perform in office procedures like endometrial biopsy, Nonstress Test (NST), portable ultrasound, and colposcopy.
- Carry out any other activities deemed appropriate by the Chief Medical Officer or CEO.
- Family Medicine Ob/Gyn Physician has the ability to practice Family Medicine services as allowed by schedule
- Report incidences to the Department of Risk and Compliance
- Completion and reporting of incidents on the intranet
- Report incidents of violence and aggression to Departments of Risk and Compliance and Human Resources
- Report incidents of suspected child/elderly abuse and human trafficking to the proper agencies and the Department of Risk and Compliance.
- Represent True Health in the community and at community events.
- Rotate to other True Health centers as needed to provide coverage.
- Other responsibilities as assigned
- Completed a Family Medicine- OB/GYN fellowship or an Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency program
- Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and /or Board Certified in Family Medicine
- Florida Medical License in good standing
- Florida DEA License
- Medical staff privileges at appropriate hospital if designated by True Health
- BLS Certification
- Computer Literacy
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience, preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience, preferred.
- Effective written, verbal and electronic communication skills
- Prior experience using an electronic medical records system
- Reports to the Director of OB/GYN
- Reports to Ob/Gyn Manager for administration, paid time off (PTO), and timecard
