Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the inspection of various roadway and bridge projects within the region’s geographic area
- Oversight of contractor's quality control operations
- Quality assurance sampling and testing
- Completion of Daily Sampling and Testing Reports
- Daily communication with clients, contractors, and field project personnel.
- Use survey instruments, metering devices, tape measures, and test equipment such as nuclear density gauges, air meters, and slump cones to perform inspections.
- Perform routine tests on concrete, soils, and other material
- Measure dimensions and verify the level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades, and/or pavement to ensure compliance with plans and codes
- Gather and maintain records/documentation as required by the project
- Compile and submit field notes and computations as required by the project

- Valid Driver's License
Requirements
Education and Experience: A High School diploma or GED is required
- ODOT Prequalified Project Inspector 1 or 2 required
- ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician – Grade 1
- ACI Aggregate Testing Technician – Level 1
OR
- Ohio Aggregate Level 1
AND
- ODOT Flexible Pavement
- ODOT Traffic Work Zone
- Commercially Useful Function (CUF)
Physical Requirements:
- While successfully performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to routinely bend, kneel, climb, lift, and carry up to twenty-five (25) lbs.
- The employee must conform to the schedule assigned and required by their assigned project, which may include working in a remote location, during daylight or nighttime hours, and in extreme weather conditions.
