ODOT Prequalified Project Inspectors NEEDED in ODOT District 5
TIS is urgently seeking experienced ODOT-prequalified project inspectors to join our team. As a project inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring that all construction work is performed according to project plans, specifications, and ODOT standards.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections of construction work to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and ODOT standards
- Document and report any non-compliant work to the Project Manager
- Review and approve contractor submittals
- Attend project meetings and provide updates on inspection progress
- Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records
- Communicate effectively with contractors, project team members, and ODOT representatives
Requirements:
- ODOT Prequalification as a Project Inspector
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction inspection
- Knowledge of ODOT standards and specifications
- Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify non-compliant work
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Requirements
Education and Experience:
1. A High School diploma or GED is required and
2. Meet all requirements of Project Inspector I
3. Highway testing certification including but not limited to:
o ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician – Grade 1
o ACI Aggregate Testing Technician – Level 1
OR
o Ohio Aggregate Level 1
4. Demonstrate the successful completion of the following:
o ODOT Flexible Pavement
o ODOT Traffic Work Zone
o Commercially Useful Function (CUF)
And meet 1 of the following experience scenarios:
o Former ODOT Employee – HT3, HT4 & HT5, TM1, TM2, TM3, TA
o 1600 hours of construction project technical experience is evidenced within the past ten (10) years.
OR
o State DOT or Local Public Agency (local public agency means any city, county, township, municipality, or other political subdivision that may be empowered to cooperate with the State Transportation in highway matters.
OR a combination of the two
OR
o 1600 hours of relevant construction project technical experience as defined in the ODOT Consultant Services Prequalification Manual. Hours must be evidenced within the last 10 years either having worked directly for the LPA or a State DOT or for a consultant working for the LPA or a State DOT.
