What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Inspector position at TRUE INSPECTION SERVICES LLC?
Description
TIS is seeking an individual with construction experience, specifically in the inspection of asphalt and concrete roadways, bridge construction and rehabilitation, and coating inspection services. The role involves providing inspection services for both public and private sectors, which includes various state departments of transportation, counties, municipalities, and retailers.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Conduct field inspections and observations to ensure contractor compliance with state specifications, plans, and/or proposals for roadway work, roadway, drainage, pavement, waterworks, electrical, maintenance of traffic, traffic work zone, pavement markings, traffic control, signing, topsoil removal, demolition and clearing, foundations for embankment, sug-grades, guardrails and/or median barriers, landscaping slope protection, detours, temporary roads, etc.
- Complete and maintain daily records of field observations.
- Read and interpret plans, specifications, and standards.
- Perform material sampling and testing on project-applicable materials.
- Assist other project management staff with identifying problems and developing viable solutions for consideration.
Pay Rate:
- Top pay commensurate with certification, qualification, and experience
Requirements
Qualifications:
- A valid driver’s license is required
- Previous inspection experience-preferred
- Technological proficiency
- Ability to routinely bend, kneel, climb, lift, and carry up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to work in variable weather conditions; including hot/cold, humid/wet, and dry/arid conditions.
- ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician-Grade I
- ACI Aggregate Testing Technician-Level I
OR
- Ohio Aggregate Technician preferred
- ODOT Prequalified Project Inspector 1 preferred
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required
