Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction management and estimating, with the ability to analyze project specifications and develop accurate cost estimates. This role is crucial in ensuring that projects are completed within budget and on schedule, while also maintaining high standards of quality. Drug test and background check required.
Duties
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for construction projects.
- Utilize HeavyBid software to create detailed and precise estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to ensure all aspects of the project are accounted for in the estimates.
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather necessary information for accurate pricing.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best pricing and terms.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Prepare detailed reports outlining estimated costs, timelines, and any potential risks associated with the project.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and techniques to provide informed recommendations.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is essential.
- Strong understanding of construction management principles and practices.
- Proficiency in using estimating software such as HeavyBid is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability in cost control measures and effective negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with construction site operations and safety regulations.
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail in pricing and contract evaluation.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
- Experience in project management is a plus.
