Mohs Histology Technician
Duties:
- Specimen handling, storage, preservation and identification
- Freezing tissue and cutting frozen sections with a cryostat
- Staining Slides using H& E
- Labeling and storage of slides
- Use and handling of all materials and reagents
- Disposal of stains and cleaning of equipment daily
- Maintenance and review of all equipment and materials in the lab
- Maintaining and updating CLIA records
- Maintaining quality control logs for slide review
- Maintaining log for patient identification system
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in Science (not required but preffered)
- Certification as a Mohs Histology Technician
- Strong understanding of histology techniques, including tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining
- Attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and procedures
** This a traveling position within Southwest Florida. We cover from Clearwater down to Fort Myers. We try to keep all techs as close to home as possible but the potential for traveling anywhere within that region is possible.
