We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced RPGLE developer. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in RPG development, ERP experience, database administration, and reporting / analytics. This role is integral to the developmentand support of critical systems within the manufacturing and distribution industry.Key Duties and Responsibilities : Develop and maintenance applications in RPG, RPGLE, and SQLRPGLEDevelop and maintain reporting and analytics solutions for business stakeholders,including custom reports and data extraction toolsTroubleshoot iSeries program errors, messages, and alertsCollaborates with business and IT leadership to automate and / or optimize businessprocessesCollaborate closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliversoftware solutions that meet business needsWorks directly with the ERP vendor (VAI) on support and development initiativesTesting and validation of IBM Power Systems software updatesSupports month and year end procedures and processingPerforms other related duties as required or as requested by the ERP ManagerRequired Skills and Experience : A bachelors degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.At least 10 years of RPG, RPGLE, and SQLRPGLE development experienceExperience in VAI S2K ERP preferred but not requiredKnowledge or understanding of how IBM iSeries applications work; Exposure toapplication components : UI, server architecture, system architecture and databases;Familiar with DB2 database architectureStrong linear focus : Able to walk through detail for planning and executing adevelopment / ERP solutionComprehensive understanding of SDLC processesAbility to translate between technical and non-technical requirementsAbility to organize ones own activities and manage multiple priorities independentlywhile also working as an active member on a teamStrong analytical skills.
