What are the responsibilities and job description for the Turf & Compact Tractor / Construction Technician position at True North Equipment?
We are seeking a skilled Service Technician to join our team at True North Equipment. Our employees are the key to our success, and we desire individuals who are self-starters and hard-workers, always willing to dive into a new challenge and eager to learn.
You will focus on diagnosing and repairing equipment, documenting labor and repairs, and collaborating with team members to streamline operations and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Main Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair equipment, including lawn mowers, UTVs, skid steers, compact tractors, telehandlers, aerial lifts, mini hydraulic excavators, multi terrain loaders, and other light and medium equipment
- Document labor, addition of segments, machine information, and repairs completed on work order
- Utilize technical manuals, diagnostic tools, and software to troubleshoot and resolve problems
- Collaborate effectively with team members, including service advisors and parts department personnel
- Participate in formal trainings, company/location driven communication efforts
- Maintain technical and product knowledge of John Deere and other equipment sold within the dealership
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in diagnosing and repairing machinery
- Proven experience working as a technician in the agricultural or equipment industry, with specific expertise in servicing small engines and compact tractors
- 2-year technical degree in diesel, or small engines, or high school diploma/GED and several years of comparable shop mechanic experience
- Familiarity with John Deere equipment and systems is highly desirable
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also functioning effectively as part of a team
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record required to drive company-owned vehicles
- Candidates must have valid work authorization and be able to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship
- $19-$25 /hr depending on years of experience
