True North Legal Group, a mission-driven law firm primarily serving small businesses, nonprofit organizations, and the people of Northern Michigan, is seeking a Part-Time Legal Operations Coordinator to join our growing team. We are based in Traverse City, Michigan, and are looking for a dependable, proactive professional who thrives in a flexible, purpose-driven environment.
This is a W-2 employee position, averaging 20 hours per week, with the potential for growth. The role is remote-first, but the ideal candidate will be located in Northern Michigan and available for occasional in-person meetings with clients or firm leadership.
What You’ll Do:
- Serve as the first point of contact for potential and current clients
- Manage client intake, follow-up, documentation collection, and onboarding processes
- Draft and file routine legal documents and professional correspondence
- Monitor and respond to the firm’s shared email inbox
- Provide calendar management, scheduling, and administrative support
- Help build and improve internal workflows and systems as the firm scales
Who You Are:
- Associate's degree or equivalent professional experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently
- Tech-savvy and comfortable learning new systems or tools
- Eager to grow with the firm and take on additional responsibility over time
- Discreet and trustworthy when handling confidential client information
Position Details:
- Part-time W-2 employee position
- Approximately 20 hours per week, with flexible scheduling
- Hourly pay commensurate with experience (anticipated range: $25–$35/hour)
