JOB PURPOSE: The Financial Analyst – Sales Support will play a critical role in providing financial insights, analysis, and recommendations to the sales team. This role will support the development of pricing strategies, sales forecasts, and performance analysis, ensuring alignment with the company's revenue and profitability targets. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, and finance, to drive data-driven decision-making and optimize the company’s sales performance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Develop and maintain sales forecasts, budgets, and projections in collaboration with the sales team.
- Provide detailed variance analysis between actual sales performance and forecasted targets.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations on sales trends, customer profitability, and product performance for management.
- Assist in the development of pricing strategies to improve profitability and market competitiveness.
- Analyze product margins and recommend adjustments to ensure optimal pricing and discount strategies.
- Monitor the impact of pricing decisions on overall financial performance.
- Conduct financial analysis of sales performance, including revenue growth, customer acquisition costs, and profitability metrics.
- Evaluate sales team performance, including the effectiveness of incentives, commission structures, and bonus plans.
- Develop dashboards and reports that track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the sales department.
- Analyze the profitability of different customer segments, product lines, and sales channels.
- Provide recommendations on how to maximize profitability through targeted sales efforts, product offerings, or market segments.
- Support the sales team in developing strategies to grow high-margin accounts.
- Collaborate with operations and finance teams to ensure alignment between sales strategies and overall company goals.
- Work with the sales team to assess the financial impact of potential deals, contracts, and market expansions.
- Assist in the preparation of financial models for new sales initiatives, partnerships, and market opportunities.
- Assist in the preparation of annual sales budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- Provide support in the development of long-term financial plans related to sales growth and market expansion.
- Analyze sales expenses and recommend areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Informs and advises Director of Finance and VP Sales regarding the financial aspects of their areas.
- Aids auditors in preparation of applicable federal, state and local tax returns.
- Assists and advises the Director of Finance on accounting procedures and ensures the accuracy of financial statements.
- Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned by the manager.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in a manufacturing or sales support role.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, sales operations, and manufacturing cost structures.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial software systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Experience in supporting sales teams within a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with commission and bonus plan analysis.
- Knowledge of pricing strategies and customer profitability analysis.
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Thorough knowledge of finance, managerial accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures
- Ability to balance and reconcile records kept and be able to research and resolve any unbalanced issues involved in the accounting procedures.
- Job costing or process costing experience; Complete understanding of LIFO, FIFO, and standard costing.
- Strong technical skills involving inventory reconciliation, cost analysis and month-end close.
- Solid decision-making skills and the ability to exercise independent judgment; Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
- Capacity to prioritize and plan work activities efficiently to meet deadlines, work on multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
- Prompt and regular attendance is required.
