This service technician will move, install, set up, inspect, prep, repair, and maintain TSTP equipment. The ideal candidate will assist with the installation, termination, and testing of low-voltage cabling systems in commercial and industrial environments. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work at heights. All members of the TSTP team have a commitment to continued education in their field through additional training or certifications.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
- Possesses a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds or more.
- Being on call for possible weekend work is required (usually one weekend a month).
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools.
- Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and outdoors year-round.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspect and prep new equipment when necessary.
- Assist with the installation of equipment at various locations throughout Wisconsin and Illinois.
- Document delivery, equipment distribution, and service provided.
- Communicates the status of equipment and customer accounts.
- Provides quality customer service through regular interaction with account managers, owners, and employees.
- Account for the security of all equipment and merchandise on the route.
- Keep equipment cleaned and maintained in proper working order. This includes route maintenance as needed.
- Keep daily inventory records of merchandise taken from warehouse stock.
- Listen to and resolve service complaints.
- Clean and perform routine maintenance on the vehicles and tools. This includes keeping your work area in the warehouse and your work vehicle clean and organized.
- Perform low-voltage cable pulling, routing, and termination (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optics, etc.).
- Install and test cabling infrastructure and related hardware according to project specifications.
- Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
- Adhere to company safety standards and OSHA regulations.
- Travel to job sites as needed (approximately 20% of the time). Work vehicle provided.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure project goals are met.
- Equipment rack buildouts
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Certifications such as BICSI Installer, CTS (Certified Technology Specialist), or OSHA 10/30.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for low voltage systems.
- Basic understanding of blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- At least 1 year of experience in low voltage cabling installation.
CUSTOMER RELATIONS
- Represent True Solutions Tech Partners and yourself positively and professionally while out in the field.
- Ensure that all customer interactions are always friendly and professional.
- Work with customers to resolve issues and alleviate concerns.
- Train customers on the proper use of equipment, settings, and routine maintenance.
Salary : $19 - $24
