What are the responsibilities and job description for the Learning and Development Manager position at Truebeck Construction?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
PROGRAM MANAGEMENT
• Collaborate with department managers and leadership team to align learning goals with corporate strategy
• Identify current and forecast future training needs
• Oversee design and creation of training solutions utilizing a wide variety of training methods
• Create and implement marketing strategy to promote Truebeck’s learning culture
• Recommend and manage training materials, equipment, and facilities, ensuring they align with budgetary guidelines
• Remain current on developments in training and instructional methodologies. Attend periodic seminars, forums and meetings to ensure currency of programs
• Collaborate across the organization to identify and/or develop training for operations and non-operations job families
• Create in-house content and partner with third party providers to provide coaching, classroom training, and e-learning, etc.
• Schedule monthly in person training topics for operations team
• Create and manage a comprehensive training plans
• Monitor and evaluate training program’s effectiveness
• Maintain metrics and records of training activities, participation progress, program effectiveness and calendars through detailed reporting methods
• Conduct pre and post event evaluations and report on outcomes and potential actions to stakeholders
• Use learning metrics and analytics to measure the impact of training programs
• Any other task or duty as assigned or required
INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN
• Utilize adult learning principles to create an active learning experience; eliminate common learning barriers and ensure strong learning objectives
• Ensure a variety of delivery methods to ensure active learning to improve learning and retention.
• Understand the importance of measuring training and use common models (ADDIE, Kirkpatrick Four Levels, Phillips ROI, NPS Scores, etc.), manage data collection, analyze data, and apply learning analytics to ensure effective training outcomes and modify as needed
• Create a consistent process, each containing deliverable milestones with the purpose of moving, challenging the design for appropriateness, and building the final deliverable
• In collaboration with the HRIS Administrator, plans and implements ongoing LMS improvements to support the administration of the training program and Truebeck’s culture of learning
KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, organizational development, industrial engineering, or a related field is preferred; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
• 5 years of experience delivering training or equivalent experience
• 2-5 years directing and leading and matrixed teams
• 2-5 years of training curriculum development or instructional design experience in construction or related industry preferred. Knowledge of instructional theory, including assessment, and adult learning theory
• Experience with e-learning platforms and remote training techniques
• Proficiency with learning management systems & reporting

• Passion for construction and strong mentoring skills
• Able to work both collaboratively across various functions and work independently in an ambiguous, constantly-changing environment with a relentlessly positive attitude
• Able to train and coach in remote and in-person learning environments as well as one on one
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Strong presentation skills, excellent facilitation skills
Range of base pay is $130,000-$164,000.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
The incumbent is required to work at the main office and travel to other office or jobsite locations as needed. Typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, mobile smart phone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office. Incumbent may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the work day. The employee is regularly required to be in a stationary position, communicate, or convey; frequently required to operate or position, and to be in a stationary position, move, reach, bend or transport up to 20 pounds.
Salary : $130,000 - $164,000
