The Senior Systems Administrator is a technical expert responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of complex hybrid cloud and on-premises IT infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Azure. This includes core services like Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Azure networking components (Virtual Networks, VPN Gateways). The role also encompasses virtualization (VMware and Azure), storage solutions (both on-premises and Azure-based), robust backup and recovery strategies, and comprehensive monitoring and logging systems. This position requires deep cloud experience, particularly with Azure. The Senior Systems Administrator serves as a mentor and high-level escalation point for the IT service desk and contributes to various IT projects.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Proactively monitors IT infrastructure, with a focus on Azure services, utilizing appropriate monitoring tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, SolarWinds) to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
- Deploys, configures, and maintains server environments, including development, testing, and production, across on-premises and Azure platforms, ensuring seamless integration with organizational systems.
- Manages core infrastructure services, encompassing on-premises Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, VMware vCenter, and cloud-based services such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and other relevant Azure services.
- Manages Azure Active Directory, including enterprise application integration, single sign-on (SSO) configurations, and Identity Provider (IdP) environments.
- Administers and optimizes the Azure environment, overseeing virtual machine deployment, configuration, management, and lifecycle management.
- Participates in the development, implementation, and testing of comprehensive disaster recovery plans for both on-premises and Azure environments.
- Provides Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support for system and application incidents reported through the service desk ticketing system.
- Collaborates with the Network Administrator on the management of network infrastructure, including WANs, LANs, VPNs, Wi-Fi, firewalls (e.g., Meraki), and Azure networking components such as Virtual Networks, Network Security Groups, and VPN Gateways.
- Implements changes according to established IT policies and procedures, ensuring proper documentation and change management processes are followed.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation within the IT knowledge base system to facilitate knowledge sharing and efficient troubleshooting.
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies, actively pursuing professional development opportunities, and contributes to achieving team and individual goals.
- Collaborates with the IT Security team to implement and maintain security best practices across all systems and services, including vulnerability management, security patching, and access control measures to protect organizational data and assets.
- Monitors security logs and events, investigates security incidents, and responds to security alerts promptly and effectively to mitigate potential threats.
- Manages and maintains Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions, including multi-factor authentication (MFA) and privileged access management (PAM) to enforce least privilege and secure access to resources.
- Designs and implements robust and scalable Azure infrastructure solutions, encompassing networking, storage, compute, and security components to meet business requirements.
- Optimizes Azure resource utilization for cost efficiency and performance, leveraging Azure cost management tools and best practices.
- Implements and manages Azure governance policies and controls to ensure compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develops and maintains comprehensive system documentation, including architecture diagrams, operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides to ensure effective system management and support.
- Participates in IT strategic planning and roadmap development, providing technical input and contributing to the overall IT strategy.
- Mentors and guides IT staff, sharing knowledge and expertise to foster professional growth and development within the team.
- Performs capacity planning and performance tuning to ensure optimal system performance, proactively identifying and addressing potential bottlenecks.

The pay range for this role is $107,200 - $160,000 on an annual basis.

If you are hired at TrueCare, your final base salary (within the pay range), will be determined based on factors such as education, knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members when determining any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth. We also offer generous benefits and retirement plans.
