The Analytics Developer plays a crucial role in analyzing and interpreting data to support strategic decision making within TrueCare. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining analytic solutions, such as reports, scorecards, dashboards, and Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) processes to support all levels and business units of TrueCare. The Analytics Developer must also possess a deep understanding of SQL, strong analytical skills, and a high level of experience developing analytic solutions in a Microsoft SQL environment. It is also desired that the Analytics Developer have a relevant Epic certifications and prior experience utilizing data from Epic’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform.

- This position is remote to California residents
- Develop complex analytic solutions using Excel, SQL Server Reporting Services, Tableau, and/or other analytics platforms
- Work with stakeholders throughout all business areas of TrueCare to gather requirements and understand why data is needed and how it will be used
- Design and deploy database table structures, views, and stored procedures to support analytics needs
- Validate own work and the work of teammates, using department-approved processes, to deliver accurate analytic solutions on a consistent basis
- Review and understand existing analytic tools to troubleshoot and/or modify as required
- Develop, troubleshoot, and optimize complex queries, stored procedures, and database scripts
- Implement reports, scorecards, and dashboards to display data in differing formats
- Assist in conducting needs analysis for the development or procurement of new systems and/or the modification of existing systems
- Develop, maintain, and monitor efficient ETL processes to integrate data from various internal and external data sources into a data warehouse or data lake
- Ensure compliance with data governance policies and procedures and implement security measures to protect sensitive data and maintain data privacy
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of data models, database schemas, SQL scripts, and ETL processes, including business rules and data lineage for auditing purposes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, developers, informaticists, senior leadership, and other stakeholders, to gather and understand business requirements and translate them into effective analytic solutions
- Manage incoming data requests by appropriately prioritizing and delegating each request
- Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
- Protect operations by keeping information secure and confidential and by following Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Health Information for Technology and Economic Clinical Health Act (HITECH) and other standards for information security in healthcare environments
- Develop and maintain a good working knowledge of the healthcare environment in general, as well as the internal functions and processes of TrueCare
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or related field or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years ofexperience in SQL coding and analytics development and support
- 3-5 years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Services, and SQL Server Integration Services
- Experience coding complex stored procedures (using T-SQL)
- Knowledge of relational/dimensional databases design patterns
- Strong proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write complex queries and optimize performance
- Computer proficiency, particularly with the Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience developing data visualizations in Tableau is strongly preferred
- Healthcare experience in a data modeling, analytics, or business intelligence role
- Epic certification in Cogito or Clarity Data Model
- SQL certification (T-SQL or PL/SQL or other)
- SQL Server Analysis Services experience (or other cube technology)
- Database certification (MSSQL or Oracle or Other)
- Experience working in the Analytics department of a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)
- Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and experience in agile development methodologies
