About the role
We are looking for a full-time Senior Scheduler to provide strategic oversight & hands-on scheduling services for projects of varying size, scope, & complexity. The successful candidate will plan, develop, monitor & update project schedules, including project controls, risk assessment & resource planning. The Senior Scheduler shall possess full working knowledge of construction scheduling from pre-development through construction closeout.
Primary responsibilities
- Develop project baseline & progress schedules
- Ensure cost- & resource-loading are aligned with contractual requirements
- Confirm PM schedule quality adhering to customer’s quality criteria, best practices & standards
- Ensure alignment with planning & estimating
- Provide guidance & input on scheduling impacts to facilitate change order/claims negotiation
- Develop recovery plan/what-if schedules, as needed
- Prepare historical data that can be used to identify trends & project acceleration opportunities
- Attend project team meetings to support schedule updates & analysis, as needed
- Ensure project teams, executives & other stakeholders are informed of project status & schedule risks; prepare schedule performance reports, including metrics, as appropriate
- Support project teams; mentor/supervise other schedulers
Candidate requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Construction Management
- 7 years experience in construction scheduling
- Ability to effectively interface with internal & external project stakeholders at various levels
- Capacity to work independently & as part of a team
- Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management skills & detail orientation
- Superior verbal & written communication & interpersonal skills
- Outstanding multi-tasker who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment
Required skills & qualifications
- Proficiency using Oracle Primavera P6 (CPM Scheduling software) & Microsoft Project
- Experienced in cost- & resource-loaded scheduling
- Preferred experience in utility construction
- Proficiency in reading/understanding cost estimates, construction plans, and specifications
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
