The underground laborer is familiar with preparation, methodology, tools, and safety related to the placement of underground telecommunication infrastructure for a variety of projects including municipal projects. This position is responsible for performing construction telecom installations as requested by the crew foreman and supporting the telecom crew for large-scale projects with an emphasis on underground construction throughout the USA. This may include digging, trenching, plowing, handling cable, vault setting, loading and unloading materials / equipment, and general project cleanup. The underground laborer is considered “high impact” to the success of the company. The successful candidate will represent Trueline in a professional manner while dealing with the customer and the public. This position reports to the Construction Supervisor or Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is preferred
- 1 years experience in underground utility construction work preferred
- 1 years experience working with and operating construction equipment (backhoe, mini excavator, trencher, plow etc) preferred
- Ability to maintain a professional ‘can do’ attitude and possess a strong work ethic
- Applicants must pass MVR review, criminal background check, and drug screen
- Must be able to work some weekends and evenings when needed
- Travel to project sites required
- Valid driver’s license required; class A driver’s license preferred
