What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laborer - Construction/telecom position at Trueline Infrastructure Solutions?
The underground laborer is familiar with preparation, methodology, tools, and safety related to the placement of underground telecommunication infrastructure for a variety of projects including municipal projects. This position is responsible for performing construction telecom installations as requested by the crew foreman and supporting the telecom crew for large-scale projects with an emphasis on underground construction throughout the USA. This may include digging, trenching, plowing, handling cable, vault setting, loading and unloading materials/equipment, and general project cleanup. The underground laborer is considered “high impact” to the success of the company. The successful candidate will represent Trueline in a professional manner while dealing with the customer and the public. This position reports to the Construction Supervisor or Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is preferred
- 1 years experience in underground utility construction work preferred
- 1 years experience working with and operating construction equipment (backhoe, mini excavator, trencher, plow etc) preferred
- Ability to maintain a professional ‘can do’ attitude and possess a strong work ethic
- Applicants must pass MVR review, criminal background check, and drug screen
- Must be able to work some weekends and evenings when needed
- Travel to project sites required
- Valid driver’s license required; class A driver’s license preferred
Physical Requirements
- Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas
- Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable and sustained use of your arms, legs, and moving your entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, sitting standing, and handling of materials up to 75lbs
- Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment, work in inclement weather, stand, and drive for extended periods of time
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment
