Position: CNC Machinist

Job Summary
The CNC Machinist plays a critical role in producing high-quality precision parts by programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines. This position requires diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues, performing necessary adjustments, and ensuring products meet blueprint specifications through meticulous inspection.
Key Responsibilities:
Machining & Programming:
- Analyze work orders, blueprints, and engineering plans to plan machining operations.
- Program, set up, and operate mills and lathes by inputting instructions and overseeing operations.
- Select and mount the appropriate fixtures, tools, and attachments to meet job specifications.
Quality Assurance:
- Inspect and verify materials against work orders.
- Monitor machine operations, take precise measurements, and address malfunctions or inconsistencies.
- Maintain strict adherence to quality assurance standards and protocols.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
- Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical or operational issues promptly.
- Replace coolant and ensure adequate machine warm-up and cool-down periods between jobs.
Collaboration & Documentation:
- Maintain clear communication between shifts by documenting actions and updates.
- Complete production and quality logs accurately.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Safety & Cleanliness:
- Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols.
- Keep the workspace clean and organized to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a 2-year technical degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in machine tool trades.
Technical Proficiency:
- Expertise in horizontal milling machines and precision measuring tools.
- Strong understanding of blueprints, routers, and cutting tools.
Skills & Attributes:
- Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
- Capability to handle complex projects with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in basic math, geometry, and trigonometry.
